Chamonix-Mont Blanc Retreat - Dancing Through Time and Space

Dancing Through Time and Space

May 11-14, 2023

Chamonix-Mont Blanc

Retreat in the Haute-Savoie of France

Come join us in the heart of Chamonix, one of the most beautiful towns in the Alps, situated at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe.

This weekend retreat offers an extraordinary opportunity to embrace mind and body both as we sense into the wonder of the natural world we are a part of. We will take time and space to reconnect with and reclaim our bodies and our selves as part of the natural world, through which matter, energy and awareness flow.

Incorporating elements from yoga, dance, somatics, improvisation and the martial arts, we will bring awareness to our nature as life in motion. Through structured movement and mindfulness practices, we will breathe, stretch, connect and flow into the experience of being living, vibrant and conscious organisms.

We’ll explore the natural history of the Earth from its origins in clouds of cosmic dust, through the formation of our atmosphere and oceans, the origin and evolution of life and biochemistry, to the many episodes of mountain building and erosion that have produced the spectacular topography of this region. We will see the effects of ice ages, and how glaciers, rivers and life have sculpted the land, and how climate change will impose rapid changes in the decades to come.

Participants will experience a broader view of the concept of nature that includes a deep appreciation of the science of origin and destiny as well as a deeply personal sense of dwelling as an active participant in one’s embodied being, in nature, and in the larger cosmos.

Let's find our way back to life, together!
